RESCAMP 2023 VOLUNTEER HUb

Hello ResCamp 2023 Volunteers!

This is your one stop shop for all information pertaining to those who have committed to volunteer at or before ResCamp 2023. We are SO blessed to have the joy of serving God alongside of you and we can’t wait to get to know you better through leading together! It is our hope that during your time volunteering at ResCamp, you might experience more of God’s love for you each day, and be the means of someone else's experience of that love.

While you’ll be hearing from us several times via email leading up to ResCamp Week (June 26–30), this page will serve as an active volunteer landing page that you can refer to as needed!

RESCAMP DAILY SCHEDULE:

8:00–9:00am: Early Drop-off

8:10–8:45am: Volunteer Huddle 

8:50–9:15am: Camper Drop-Off

9:15–9:50am: Large Group Opening

9:55am–12:10pm: Station Rotations

12:15–12:30pm: Large Group Closing

12:30pm: Pick-Up

FAMILY-FRIENDLY PREP TIMES:

All are invited to decorate the building and help organize activity supplies. You might be asked to paint a prop for the main stage, sort arts and crafts, cut paper shapes, or hang posters. All of these opportunities are VERY family-friendly, casual, and drop-in. Let us know which days and times you can serve by filling out the RSVP form below.

VOLUNTEER ROLES:
​

Over the next few weeks, each team will receive an area-specific email from their team’s leader. This is how everything has been divided:
​
  • ​The Parking Team will be led by Bob Carman who will contact you directly (Thanks Bob!)
  • The Prayer Team will be led by Marj Beukema who will send you email updates directly (Marj is the best!)
  • Jr. Crew Leader Coaches (and “Jr. Crew Leaders+”) will be led by Tom Dickerson who will talk with you directly.
  • Preschool Activity Leaders and Preschool Crew Leaders will be led by our fabulous preschool director, Jessie Lough. 
  • Elementary Crew Leaders, Elementary Crew Co-Leaders, Elementary Station Leaders, and Assistants, can expect to hear from Claire Trainor.
  • General Helpers, Check-In Team, Nursery Team, Early Drop-Off Team, Special Assignments, and Fill-in will be led by Sara Straw​
ROLE ASSIGNMENTS
​REMAINING OPENINGS:

  • 1 Preschool Bible Time Teacher: This person should be able to captivate and manage a room of 50 little people and communicate the Gospel in an engaging way! There is a teaching topic and curriculum for each day but some preparation is necessary. Must be available to teach from 10:00-10:30 daily.
 
  • 3 Early Drop Off Overseers: These should be Child Protection Trained adults who can manage a large group of preschool and elementary aged children on the playground while their parents participate in the morning volunteer meeting from 8:00-8:50 AM each day. 
 
  • Volunteer Breakfast Volunteers: These folks are responsible for fueling our team for a high energy day of loving kids! Please use THIS LINK to sign up to contribute various breakfast items each day!

There is also an opportunity for several paid positions as an Extended-Day Counselor from 12:30-3:30 daily. These counselors should be high school aged and older, CPT trained, and will apply separately to Sara Straw. If interested please email saraestraw@gmail.com.

CHILD PROTECTION TRAINING:

If you are working directly with children or students at ResCamp 2023, you are required to have proof of an up-to-date Child Protection Training Certification by the Diocese of the Mid-Atlantic. If you are unsure whether your role requires CPT certification, or if you are unsure the status of your CPT certification, email Hannah Cate at childprotection@resbalt.org.

VOLUNTEER TRAINING:

The entire ResCamp volunteer team is invited to attend a brief training session on Wednesday, June 21 at 6:00pm. Pizza will be provided. Please RSVP using the button below.

At this meeting, you can anticipate:
  • Gaining an overview of ResCamp 2023 vision and logistics
  • Getting to know other ResCamp volunteers
  • Receiving instructions and clarity about your individual role
  • Picking up your ResCamp t-shirt
  • An introduction to the curriculum, theme, and music for the week

This session is REQUIRED for:
  • Preschool Crew Leaders
  • Elementary Crew Leaders
  • Preschool Activity Leaders
  • Elementary Station Leaders
  • Jr. Crew Leader Coaches

This session is OPTIONAL for:
  • Those volunteering only prior-to-camp week

TIME COMMITMENT:

Most volunteers should plan on arriving and participating in the morning Volunteer meeting each day at 8:10 AM unless noted otherwise below. All of the times below are for M–F, June 26–30th:

  • Early Drop-Off Team = 7:50–9:00am
  • Nursery Team = 7:50am–12:30pm (You can swap out/take shifts)
  • Parking Team = 7:25–8:25am; 8:25–9:25am; 12:00–1:00pm (You can pick your slot[s] with Bob)
  • Check-In Team = 8:25am–9:25am
  • Special Assignments = Various/flexible times
  • Jr. Crew Leader Coaches (and Jr. Crew Leaders Plus+), Preschool Crew Leaders, Preschool Activity Leaders, Elementary Crew Leaders and Co-Leaders, Elementary Station Leaders and Assistants = 8:10am–12:30pm
  • Extended Day Program = 12:30-3:30
  • Daily Cleanup Team = 3:30–4:30pm
