Site Work Update - July 21, 2017

Picture
The next couple weeks will bring some minor interruptions to traffic flow as we start to install underground utilities through the existing parking lot in preparation for future paving. These closures should only affect staff and daytime visitors, and all current parking areas are intended to remain accessible for evening activities and Sunday services. Please use the above map for assistance. It is the intent of the construction team to only close access to the red highlighted areas during construction hours (7AM-4PM).  Any trenches opened during the day will be in-filled by the same evening. In the event that any work remains unfinished at the end of the day, cones and barrels will be used to mark the area. Please use caution while driving through the site after hours. Please find below a list of areas that will be affected:
  1. Main Entrance from Greenspring Ave (Friday 7/21): Closed for 4 hours on Friday 7/21 to install storm drain across. Please use Kelley Entrance if you come to the church on Friday.
  2. Back Right Parking Lot Corner (Week of 7/24): Beginning Monday, 7/24, the paved parking area (from trailers towards the field, now sediment pond) will be closed for 5-7 consecutive days to complete water, sewer, and storm trenching. Please plan to park in the front left portions of the existing parking lot closest to Kelley and Greenspring during daytime hours.
  3. Side Gravel Lot: (End of Week of 8/1): Storm drainage piping will be trenched through the lot in two locations. Please traverse lot using the surface road closest to Kelley Ave during these couple of days.
Apart from the above, you will also see the construction crews start the grading, curb and gutter, and base stone processes for the East half of the new parking lot by the end of the week of 8/1.  Thank you for your patience during this project. Please contact Kari Larche if you have any logistical questions over these next few weeks.

** SPECIAL NOTE TO PARENTS ** - Our property is currently an active construction site. While kids may be interested in and excited about the work going on on our property, it's IMPERATIVE that no children (or adults) enter the construction site. Please do not allow your children to play or climb on the dirt piles, materials, equipment, or vehicles at any time. Thank you for your cooperation

Site Work Update - July 2, 2017

As mentioned at the All-Parish meeting, the site work part of our master plan will be ongoing from now until October.  The plan for the month of July is to work on the East half of the new parking lot without disrupting the current parking availability.  Over the next few weeks, you can expect to see the following:
  • Completion of the sediment pond to its intermediate stabilized state, until the sanctuary is built.
  • Grading of the parking lot and building pad area
  • Installation of storm water piping and other underground utilities and structures.
    • Some trenches will need to cross through the existing parking lot, but will be filled in by the end of each day.
  • Removal of the wooden fencing (to be replaced with orange construction fence) at playground area and demolition of the storage shed.
  • Curb/gutter and base courses for the East side parking lot towards the end of July.

Thank you everyone for your patience as we expand our site.  We expect to begin construction on the West half of the parking lot in August which may require some logistical traffic pattern changes.  Please pay special attention to any signage, and email updates sent by Kari Larche. This is an exciting time!

Site Work Updates - Stormwater Management, Parking and Property Changes

June 11, 2017

Resurrection Family, as you can tell already, the site work progress has and will continue to increase over the next few weeks! It is our goal to keep everyone informed about the ongoing work and any related logistical changes. This coming week you can expect to see:
  • Stocking and installation of concrete pipe for sediment trap outfall area
  • Digging for the sediment trap itself after outfall is established
  • Clearing of the field and spreading of excavated spoils to begin parking lot pad
  • Removal of wooden fencing and shed, and install of temporary orange fencing around the playground area

Special Logistical Notes: There should be no change to our current parking situation for the next two weeks. Please note that the new gravel entrance on Greenspring Ave is for construction vehicles only, please continue to use the paved entrances. Please also be sure to park head-in along the front driveway of the church (rather than end-to-end) so that more cars can fit each Sunday.

Safety Note to Parents: As mentioned, our property has become an active construction site.  Please do not allow children to climb fencing, touch equipment, or try to enter the work site in any way.
