Our Story
In March 2005, a small number of faithful people began to meet regularly for prayer in response to the need for a dynamic, gospel centered Anglican Church in Baltimore, MD. After a season of discernment, Church of the Resurrection was launched in the summer of 2005 with services in parishioners’ homes. In the winter of 2006, the church moved to Rainbow Hill, formerly General MacArthur’s home, for regular Sunday worship.
The Rev. Elliot Winks served for three years as the founding Rector of Church of the Resurrection. In November of 2009, Church of the Resurrection bought a new church home on 7 acres of land on Greenspring Ave in Lutherville, MD. In the spring of 2010, David Drake was called to serve as Rector of Church of the Resurrection.
Church of the Resurrection is first and foremost committed to “Knowing Jesus Christ, and Making Him Known.” Therefore, we are committed to proclaiming the gospel, providing opportunities for those exploring the Christian faith to ask honest questions and participate in thoughtful conversations, growing Christians, helping children and students learn to love and serve Christ, training leaders, serving others, giving away resources, planting churches, and participating in a variety of dynamic Anglican Worship services.
