The steel erection of the new building was completed last week! In the days that followed this, there was additional welding and plumbing up of the columns and the Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing (MEP) rough-ins under the slab for the Commons Area were finished.
This week we have been watching work progress on the site, including Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing (MEP) rough-ins under the slab for the Sanctuary, and MEP rough-ins for 2nd Floor of the Commons Area. The concrete slab is being poured on grade for the Commons Area. After this is poured, the concrete floor slab for the 2nd floor Commons Area will be done.
And finally, here's one last picture taken this afternoon: You can see the roof trusses are starting to be installed!
The first delivery of steel arrived on the property at the very end of April and it's been amazing to watch the progress of its installation on the site. Over the past three weeks, work has been completed for the foundation walls and footings around the sanctuary, and the underground fire tank has been installed. Backfilling around building has been done and the steel sequences for the commons area structure of the new building have been completed.
This week there will be work done under the building site as well as on the top of it! This includes Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing (MEP) rough-ins under the slab for the commons area as well as pouring the concrete slab on grade for this area. Up above, the crew will be working on roof truss installation on top of the commons area.
Please take care as you drive around the site. Thank you for your faithfulness in prayer throughout this process. And as always, thank you for your patience and understanding as the work on our new building continues.
It's been a busy three weeks, both on the construction site and here at Resurrection, as we have journeyed together through Holy Week to Easter Sunday and the celebration of the glorious resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!
Work has continued on the site as we have enjoyed lots of sunshine and little rain over the past few weeks. The cistern, fire tank, and deep foundations have been set and the excavation has been backfilled. Progress on footings and foundation walls continue around the north side of the sanctuary.
Construction is underway on the elevator in the building, and the elevator shaft is going up! Once construction on the shaft is completed, the elevator pit will be waterproofed and backfilled. The first delivery of structural steel is arriving this week and will coincide with installation of the crane that will be used to hoist and move the steel beams around the site. Some of this material will be stored along the parking spots in the front of the new sanctuary. Congregants are encouraged to park in the back of the church for the next 5-6 weeks while steel erection is ongoing. We are starting to get vertical!
Over the past two weeks, construction has been focused on more digging and establishing a firm foundation for our building. Concrete foundations and masonry foundation walls are continuing in the new Sanctuary area and deep excavation for the fire tank and deep footers has continued over these two weeks. Please pray for no rain to fill up the hole!
As we move into this week on the construction site, concrete for deep footings are being poured through the start of the week. As this portion of the work is being completed, major deliveries will start occurring the week after Easter (4/22), including the firetank and steel. A large crane will be also present on the property. Some of these materials will be stored along the parking spots until it gets installed. Please be mindful when parking on Sundays.
Lastly for this update, the erection of the steel structure for our new building is expected to start in early May! As always, thank you for your patience and understanding as the work on our new building continues.
Progress continues to move ahead very smoothly as concrete footings and major digging has been the main work performed over the past two weeks. Concrete footings for the Fellowship area were completed last week and the construction crew is working on the footings for the new sanctuary area this week. This includes placing CMU block on top of the footings.
Also commencing this week is the deep digging for 19’x30’ fire tank pit and associated tie-backs/shoring install. We ask for your prayers for the construction crews and the work being performed, specifically that they do not hit any rock in this process of digging this extremely deep pit, and we praise the Lord that test pits in this area seem to look good! Major deliveries of steel, the fire tank, and other materials will commence the week after Easter (4/22) and may fill up some parking spots. Please take care as you drive around the site. Thank you for your faithfulness in prayer throughout this process.
On March 3, as a congregation, we broke ground on the construction site of our new building. What a joy and privilege it was to see God at work in our midst, and what a great time we had celebrating together as a church family! We want to thank all of you who have done, and continue to do, so much to make these kinds of joyous days possible for our church. Above all, we continue to give thanks to the Lord for doing “immeasurably more than we could ever ask or imagine” (Ephesians 3:20).
Now that our property is under major construction, please keep these things mind:
We ask God for safety and wisdom as we worship, serve, and work, while our property remains under construction in the coming year, and as always, we are grateful for our congregation and your commitment to our church in this process!
